Providence Food Service Assistant in Seaside, Oregon
Providence is calling a Food Service Assistant (0.6 FTE, Rotating/Variable Shift) to Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR
We are seeking a Food Service Assistant that will provide support duties such as answering the telephone, taking room service orders, dishwashing, waiting on cafeteria customers, stocking, and general kitchen housekeeping duties. The food service worker is under direct supervision of the Cook and Coordinator of Dietary Services.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Ensure food quality meets department and state health standards
Maintain appropriate inventories of stock items for all designated areas within the hospital and cafeteria
Assist in set up for catering events
Assembly of tray meets with department standards and designated menus
Food is delivered to designated areas at proper time for each meal
All cafeteria refrigerators are stocked and maintained during meal service
Must hold current state food handler's card
Food prepared and maintained at proper temperatures
Perform work in a manner that ensures a safe working environment to self and others
Abide by safety and sanitation policies listed in departmental policies and procedures
Leave work area neat and orderly for next shift
Properly use and care for equipment in the facility
Kitchen area is kept secure of unauthorized persons
Be responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of cooking/eating utensils, pots/pans and dishes
Provide Excellence in Customer Service whether in person or on the telephone
Proper uniform is worn and personal appearance is in accordance with hospital policy. Name tag visible
Complete goals of last evaluation
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma -OR- GED -OR- one (1) year of related experience, basic math skills and the ability to read and write
