Providence Senior Program Coordinator- Community Health Investment PSJH in Portland, Oregon


Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Community Health Investment Senior Program Coordinator PSJH to our location in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Community Health Investment Senior Program Coordinator PSJH to assist the Manager or Program Director in program and or data requests related to community benefit in alignment with mission, federal and state requirements. Furthermore, the Community Health Investment Coordinator will be the local point person for community benefit reporting questions at both the region and system level. The Coordinator will communicate regularly with community stakeholders, managers, team members, and regional/system staff. This position performs detailed functions and analysis, must exercise independent judgment, autonomy, and initiative with internal and external stakeholders.

In this position you will:

  • Responsible for common reporting of regional community benefit investments including: data collection, validation/documentation and analysis of financial and program reporting. The Coordinator will be asked to support the compilation of some sections of data and narratives in coordination with manager/director related to Schedule H in alignment with standard guidance.

  • Preparing reports which will assist management with monitoring performance on evaluation goals of community health investment efforts

  • Collecting stories which will support telling the story via the community benefit report that will support and increase understanding of impactful community benefit programs and support the development of internal and external champions of community health investment.

  • Providing appropriate information (documentation), reports and analysis for both internal and external community benefit audits and internal use for internal and external communications, community board meetings as required

  • Representing the facility both internally and externally regarding community health investment efforts, programs, and projects. Assists with maintaining a community engagement portfolio across the region.

  • Provides regions with the basics of what counts as community benefit questions, provides quarterly basic education and orientation using system standard tools and resources. Participates in monthly calls with system office regarding community benefit reporting in CBISA Plus.

  • Monitor hospital reporting in CBISA Plus to ensure appropriate documentation is included (financial, programmatic, narratives, outcomes data), and foundational tabs of CBISA Plus are populated per system policy and procedure.

  • Leads and coordinates tracking and evaluation of community benefit investments. Works with the system, regional, and facility to maintain community benefit financial dashboards. Coordinator also works closely with finance to ensure that the CBISA expenses tie to the finance/hospital GL at each quarter close.

  • Liaison between hospitals and regional office around community benefit program data that supports the building of a culture engagement and connection to community health investment efforts (e.g. volunteerism opportunities). Oversees community publications and social media for community health investment. Organizes volunteer opportunities in the region and supports outreach and sponsorship activities.

  • Coordinates with internal communications to ensure community benefit documentation is current and consistently updated on the inter and intranet site

  • Supports the community health investment committees and provides leadership and representation in hospitals and regions in community coalitions.

  • Coordinator provides data support for the CHNA and CHIP from internal and external sources

  • Coordinator provides supervision for identified projects, initiatives, and department interns


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Social Science or equivalent educ/experience

  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with data extraction and manipulation, creating program reports, and data analysis. Must be advanced in Excel

  • At least 2 years of Community Benefit experience, or experience very closely related to the expected functional accountabilities
