We are seeking a Senior Manager, Healthcare Intelligence Development – PSJH to participate in the development of, advance, and execute a strategy to cultivate and grow products and services that accelerate the key strategic initiatives of PSJH. Reporting to the Exec Director, Analytic & Cognitive Services, the Leader of HI Development will drive an integrated approach to deliver actionable performance evaluation and improvement tools and capabilities to optimize clinical and business decisions and support stakeholders across all of Providence St. Joseph Health. The Leader of HI Development will assist in the development and delivery of a sustainable growth strategy and road map for HI in the area of business intelligence tools, self-service applications, and products that follows the Software Development Life Cycle practices that are industry standard. The Leader of HI Development will lead teams focused on developing products, including self-service data applications, which aid in the execution of the healthcare intelligence strategic roadmap. The Leader of HI Development will understand the company’s strategic direction, collect product requirements, develop implementation strategies to deliver products aligned with the needs of stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement of the company's analytics, self-service applications, and business intelligence capabilities. The Leader of HI Development is accountable for facilitating the inclusion of value-added analytics to the products and services developed and delivered by Healthcare Intelligence. The Leader of HI Development will serve as a consultant to the organization for healthcare intelligence developed products and will directly oversee HI resources doing development work.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
Lead the BI and Self-Service Application Development services for HI. This includes prioritization and oversight of projects conducted by Business Intelligence Analysts, Data Architects, and Visualization Developers establish and maintain relationships with HI Senior Leadership, Enterprise Executive and Senior Leadership, key Strategic Partners both internal and external to PSJH, regarding current and upcoming work efforts. Responsible for management processes associated with BI Development work. Direct management of personnel is required.
Working with all areas of HI, jointly responsible to execute the HI strategy to develop state of the art products and services to assist Caregivers across the enterpise with clinical, financial, and operational decision making and to make optimal use of information, tools, and technology.
Contribute to the development of a coherent road map for Healthcare Intelligence Development efforts which includes timelines and deliverables related to BI and Self Service Development work.
In partnership with the Director of Enterprise Performance Management and Director of Analytic Applications, accountable for the establishment and ongoing high functioning of teams focused on the development of BI & Self Service Application products, leveraging curated data sets as a foundation for those efforts.
Represent HI to the Organization and external entities and serve as a key communication resource for the ways in which HI products can improve clinical outcomes, operational performance, and Patient and Caregiver experiences.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health Administration, Computer and Information Sciences, Analytic and/or Quantitative sciences (statistics, finance, data science, public health, epidemiology, computer science, mathematics, engineering, econometrics, or related fields) Or equivalent educ/experience.
8 years experience in technical development of analytics, business intelligence, strategy, consulting, data product ownership, etc.
8 years progressive growth in relevant management and/or supervisory experience.
Substantial knowledge software development processes, standards, life cycle.
Technical expertise in most or all of the following software: Oracle, SQL, HANA, BOE, WEBI, Lumira, Crystal, Tableau, Informatica, Toad.
Demonstrated experience in project management, communication, influencing and analytical skills, preferably within the Healthcare Industry. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and BI tools and products to business audiences including C-level executives.
Demonstrated ability to translate objectives into a project plan with milestones, and resource/technology requirements, and teach, lead, and manage projects to successful execution.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple engagements with stakeholders to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems, using structured problem solving and communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas, facts, and technical information to senior management, as well as other internal customers both verbally and written.
A proven track record of working with Senior and C-level executives.
