Providence is calling a status Registered Nurse Coordinator - Patient Safety & Risk to Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

This position supports 200 clinics within Providence Medical Group and Clinical Programs with issues relating to workflows that affect patient safety and works directly with leadership to address unexpected events and patient complaints to mitigate risk.
A successful candidate would have a background in safety and risk, have exposure to HCFA and JCAHO regulations and be comfortable in a clinic-facing role that works directly with all levels of leadership across Oregon. In this position, you will:
Work with the Providence Medical Group Safety Officer and Risk/ComplianceManager to meet the objectives of the Safety and Risk Programs.
Investigate quality of care issues, review and revise policies andprocedures, survey clinics for environment of care, infection control andclinical risk processes, teach principles of safety and risk plus perform other duties related to safety, compliance and risk management.
Monitor and prepare evidence of compliance for regulatory audits and accreditation surveys
Act as a resource expert for training clinic staff related to safety and risk management
Assist Risk and Safety Managers in developing a comprehensive tracking, monitoring and training program for clinic staff related to patient safety and risk
Required qualifications for this position include:
Demonstrated knowledge of confidentiality and peer review protection principles
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary team
Working knowledge of HCFA and JCAHO regulations
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
5 years of work experience in quality improvement
Expertise and experience in safety and risk management
Experience in a clinic setting
