Providence is calling a Reporting Analyst 2 - Program Development Heart (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Analyst-Reporting 2 - Program Development Heart that will collaborate in the design, development, support and maintenance of custom, interactive data solutions, including data collection tools, data reports and dashboards. This role is in the Center for Cardiovascular Analytics, Research Data Science (CARDS), a department within the Heart Institute-Oregon. Conducts business analysis and documents requirements. Collaborates in project planning and design of usability testing, including identifying appropriate data sources and informing their structure for accuracy and ease of use. Collaborates in presenting deliverables to customers and colleagues, and in providing training on their use. Analyzes results in reports in order to vet them, as well as helps customers interpret the information to answer their business questions. Collaborates in authoring tools that integrate and process data for the purpose of optimal process flow and ease of integration. Facilitates the efficient use of data and technology for both internal and client-based projects and activities.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, development and delivery of innovative data collection, integration, reporting, analytics and visualization solutions

  • Help colleagues identify the data sources and fields needed to serve the solution design, and, informs the data layout to best serve the tools and techniques of the approach

  • Meet with colleagues and customers to understand business needs behind requests, and to document and evaluate those requirements

  • Participate in the assessment of existing customer or in-house data-related systems, workflows or practices to be enhanced, replaced, or integrated with

  • Analyze results in reports to identify issues, trends, or findings to be shared with the business customer, in order to help the customer interpret the data to answer their business questions

  • Participate in the development and delivery of support and training to customers in the use of our deliverables, as well as in the development of templates and peer training to drive standardization of new approaches in-house

  • Include knowledge transfer with colleagues about new techniques related to data collection, analysis, and reporting

  • Maintain an iterative approach to development: participate in creation of user test plans and execution of usability tests; works with project team to schedule tests and reviews by peers and customers; analyzes user feedback to shape future development

  • Collaborate with colleagues on the basic upkeep of the department's data systems-related infrastructure, including helping to improve consistency of data in the system by identifying and/or designing data- and technology-related improvements

  • Utilize Insights financial data system/platform

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree -OR- similar degree in a related field

  • Five (5) years of Analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, displaying, and/or presenting data

  • Two (2) years of Design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of enterprise applications, and/or analysis or reporting solutions, utilizing industry best practices and tools (such as Oracle, SQL and Access)

  • Two (2) years of Extracting and manipulating data for reporting purposes

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree -OR- Master's Degree in BioInformatics, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Management Information Services, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Science, or Public Policy

  • Expereince with Insights financial data system/platform

  • Coursework in Business Intelligence

  • Coursework/Training: Process/workflow improvement training (such as Agile, Lean or SCRUM)

  • Coursework in Computer Programming or Statistics

  • EHR/EMR Data Warehouse/System Certificate (such as an Epic module Certification or Proficiency)

  • SQL Server Certification

  • Tableau Desktop Qualified Associate Certification

  • Two (2) years of Analysis or research related to health services, healthcare utilization, or in a quality assessment environment

  • Two (2) years of Consolidating disparate data sources into cohesive analytic datasets/solutions

  • One (1) year of Design, execution and evaluation of test plans

  • One (1) year of Medical Claims Data or Clinical Reporting (especially for measuring cost, utilization, or quality of care)

  • Two (2) years of Administrative data manipulation

  • Two (2) years of Business Intelligence, Financial Reporting, or Operational Reporting
