Providence is calling a Regional Director - Professional Practice & Outcomes to the Oregon Region based at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Join this team of Clinical Nurse Specialists that work across the Oregon Region of 8 hospitals in elevating our nursing practice. Some travel may be required.

In this position, you will:

  • Support the division of regional nursing in standardizing best practices across the continuum of care and brings a constant focus in achieving quality patient outcomes and safety using innovative and creative methodology.

  • Have responsibilities that include providing clinical expertise in the planning, implementing and evaluation of interventions and strategies appropriate to the complexities of the problems and resources of the system.

  • Participate in programs of research designed to generate new knowledge and mentors others in the research process.

  • Be effective in translating research into practice and uses contemporary models and theories to instill rigor into clinical practice.

  • Participate in and support others in manuscript development, presentations and participates in system wide research initiatives.

  • Lead program development for Pathways and Magnet Designation in unification with project directors at the ministry level for designation and recertification.

  • Serve as a catalyst for professional practice development.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

  • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oregon

  • 3-5 years of nursing experience at the supervisory/nurse manager level

  • Experience with performance improvement and project management

  • Experience with Magnet and Pathways Designation

  • Experience in data analytics and informatics

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Clinical Master's degree

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), APRN or CNS

  • DNP, PhD, DNSc, or ND
