Providence is calling a Switchboard Phone Operator - Hospital Customer Service (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. This position is on-call and requires availability for a minimum of 8 shifts per month/after the first 3 weeks of full-time training.

We are seeking a Switchboard Phone Operator - Hospital Customer Service that will operate telecommunications console in placing, receiving and relaying calls. Answers all incoming calls for Physicians Answering Service and follows each physicians procedure. Performs paging, code announcements and other duties in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Receive and process all external, internal, physician's answering service and long distance calls to the facility through a complex multi-line phone system
Prioritize calls as need arises and responds appropriately to STAT, Code and other emergency calls
Operate the public address system which includes paging of physicians, medical personnel and all emergency codes
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Hospital -OR- large business switchboard experience
