Providence Health & Services On-call Perioperative Aide in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Perioperative Aide to its Operating Room team at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. This is a per diem/on-call position, meaning there are no guaranteed hours. You will have visibility to all open shifts - day, evening and/or nights. You can sign up for shifts as early as 5 weeks in advance. Schedules are finalized 1 month in advance. Per diem staff members are required to work a minimum of 4 shifts within a 28 day period. 2 shifts must be a weekend, evening, night, holiday or standby. You are required to work 1 holiday shift per calendar year.
In this position, you will:
Function as a member of the surgical team, while under the direct supervision and direction of the registered perioperative nurse.
Assist in the operating room (OR) function by cleaning and preparing operating rooms, safely transporting patients, retrieving and decontaminating equipment, stocking general supplies in the operating rooms.
Provide limited patient care by assisting with prepping and opening supplies before surgery.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the orientation period
Basic computer skills may be required
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Recent healthcare and/or operating room experience
