Providence Health & Services Nuclear Medicine Manager in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Nuclear Medicine Manager to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Plan, organize and oversee the managerial aspects of the Nuclear Medicine Division of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and Providence Milwaukie Hospital as well as assisting the Medical Directors in providing all services required for the proficient running of the Nuclear Medicine Division and its goal of providing the highest-quality and excellence in patient care.
Coordinate the daily operations for the Division through close interaction with subordinates, physicians, nursing personnel, and referring physicians offices and participate in supervisory team goals affecting QA and maintenance of high standards and optimum working conditions.
Work to ensure the provision of safe, efficient, cost-effective quality of service, implement department goals and objectives, develop and assure professional standards, and assist in maintaining balanced budgets.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department provides imaging services for the Medical Center, in the Portland Service Area on a 24-hour a day, 7 day per week basis. As a component of Diagnostic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine services, which include PET Scanning, are offered and monitored carefully. The procedures must be coordinated with other departments, physician schedules, technical schedules and equipment availability. Examinations involve the use of a variety of complex Radioactive Materials, supplies and equipment, and many different patient positions. Patients are often in serious physical and emotional condition requiring extra care and sensitivity in conducting the examinations. Many examinations are given to non-ambulatory patients. Coordination with other departments is essential to professional operations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an American College of Radiology (ACR) Certified Radiologic Technology Training Program - and/or - an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program
Education in Hospital Administration and Personnel Management
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) cerification for the Healthcare Provider
Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) - and/or - Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT)(N)
Currently licensed in the State of Oregon
5 years experience in Nuclear Medicine including Positron-emission tomography (PET) or Positron emission tomography–computed tomography (PET/CT)
2 years in a supervisory capacity in an Imaging Department.
Familiarity with specific State and Federal regulations and guidelines for handling radioactive materials
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 2 years working experience in tertiary care institution with participation in clinical research and education activities
