Providence Health & Services Manager Server Management Systems Ops PSJH in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Manager Server Management Systems Ops PSJH to Providence Health & Services in Renton WA, Portland OR, Burbank CA or Anaheim CA.

We are seeking a Manager Server Management Systems Ops PSJH to be accountable for the service availability of PSJH Server Management Systems Infrastructure, and the ongoing maintenance required to sustain, stablize, and secure the environment, and meet expected service levels for our caregivers. Will develop, and maintain processes, procedures, and KPI's needed to deliver standardized and stable services. This role is also responsible for maintaining accurate asset inventory data for the systems within the leader’s area of responsibility. This role works collaboratively with internal IS teams and external vendors to provide highly available, secure, and reliable infrastructure services.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Partners with peers from Engineering, Architecture & Strategy, Applications, and other PSJH teams to optimize production systems to improve the caregivers' experience with PSJH technology. Maintains currency on information technology in general and accountable disciplines in particular. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of current strategies, technology and standards, recommending enhancements and modifications through established collaboration mechanisms.

  • Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of the various functions under their leadership.

  • Working with IS leaders across PSJH, assists in defining service models and reporting mechanisms for accountable disciplines as a part of overall PSJH IS service design. Implements, maintains, and operates departmental Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs.

  • Monitors the performance of the accountable disciplines and evaluates the performance of technology services on the basis of specific KPIs.

  • Management of key vendor relationships

  • Provide estimates, forecasting and work planning assistance

  • Ensures that direct reports are meticulous in executing changes, and maintaining the environment, and other defined areas. In all activities, the incumbent treats all others with respect and demonstrates excellence, justice and compassion in daily work.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s Degree in Information Services; Business, Healthcare, or Public Administration; or IS Field

  • 2 years experience in Information Services technical leadership experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams

  • 5 years Hands on technical experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Network, Database, Server, Storage, or Security.

  • Effective interpersonal skills

  • Builds and manages effective teams

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills

  • Maintains composure under pressure

  • possesses strong technical aptitude

  • Strong leadership, team building, and team motivation skills

  • Experience in the operations of highly available IT systems and infrastructure

  • Ability to identify and solve problems creatively to ensure satisfactory user experience

  • Knowledge of Server, Virtualization, Storage, Backup, and Network Infrastructure Systems

  • Participates, as needed, in critical incident on-call rotation; carries a pager, cell phone and ensures availability during specified hours of coverage.

  • Travel up to 35%
