Manager Radiation Oncology - Radiation Oncology
Manage the activities of the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure provision of safe, cost effective, quality radiation therapy services. Provides overall leadership, direction and accountability for the department and assumes responsibility for operational planning, organizational development, budgeting, human resource development, recruitment and public relations. Manages the activities of the department which would include overseeing staffing for all work groups in the department, and is responsible for meeting productivity and safety standards. The Manager of Radiation Oncology will work in collaboration with the Service Area Director to plan, coordinate and direct operations and administrative functions in compliance with standards as required by federal, state, local and regulatory bodies. Implements department goals and objectives, develops and assures professional standards, administers the quality assurance program and is responsible for maintaining balanced budgets. Assists with developing budgets for the Radiation Oncology department.
Performs simulations and delivers therapeutic ionizing radiation to the patient as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Supports patient care by resolving treatment plan issues with physician, physicist, and treatment staff. Assists the physician and fellow employees in providing optimum care and treatment to the patients. A training program in Radiation Therapy Technology is offered in conjunction with Oregon Health Sciences University and the department maintains a clinical site affiliation through which students are enrolled each year. The Department Manager directs the clinical training for the OHSU Radiation Therapy students and collaborates directly with the OHSU Program Director and Clinical Director to assure quality clinical training is provided.
Bachelor's Degree Preferably health-related field
Education in hospital administration and personnel management
Demonstration of increasing responsibility and experience in the supervision of clinical services and financial operation of a radiation oncology department
5 years Full time experience as a radiation therapist in clinical radiation oncology.
2 years Experience in a supervisory capacity in a Radiation Oncology Department.
Established record as a strong team player and leader who inspires excellence in all areas including outstanding customer service and motivates employees to contribute to the organization
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Current license in the State of Oregon as a radiation therapy technologist
- Management experience, preferably in a radiation oncology environment
