Providence Health & Services Manager, Diagnostic Imaging in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Manager, Diagnostic Imaging to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time position with full benefits.
We are seeking a Manager, Diagnostic Imaging who will manage the daily operations through close interaction with colleagues, staff, physicians, nursing personnel and medical offices. Responsible for development and implementation of on-site operations, which are integrated and consistent with the regional delivery system. On site responsibilities: Provides leadership, management and direction for all services within Diagnostic Imaging. Coordinates operational activities of the department to achieve goals and objectives. Serves as a catalyst and mentor for motivating productivity, innovation, high employee engagement and commitment to the organization. Develops, monitors and effectively regulates departmental budgets. May also have oversight of the satellite clinical imaging sites.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Ensure the provision of high-quality imaging services by the supervision and management of the Diagnostic Imaging Department
Be responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating, rewarding, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations. In addition, the continuing education and training of employees requires implementation of an educational program, which is regularly scheduled and assures mandatory subject matters are covered annually
Oversee the daily workflow, troubleshoot, conduct on-going film critique of technologists and students films and coordinates work assignments on a monthly, as well as a daily basis
Consistently works closely with the Emergency and Surgery Departments to ensure prompt, courteous delivery of patient care and conformance to timed standards
Develop and implement regionally standardized methods for performing specified work through written policies, procedures and protocols, which interface with critical paths and optimize outcomes.
Ensure the availability of properly functioning high-quality diagnostic imaging equipment and supplies by assisting with equipment evaluation, developing a complete understanding of how equipment operates, supervising and implementing a comprehensive program for preventive maintenance on all equipment, oversees a quality control program on radiographic equipment and image processors
Develop a complete understanding of the budget process to manage and oversee
Be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, summarizing and reporting designated Quality Assurance measures
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Radiology or equivalent education/experience
Graduate of an American College of Radiology (ACR) Certified Radiologic Technology Training Program
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), -OR- the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), required depending on licensure
Current licensure in the State of Oregon
Five (5) years of Clinical experience working as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, or ultrasound technologist.
Two (2) years in a supervisory capacity in a Radiology department
Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD coding
Ability to maintain effective and efficient workflow through the clinical areas of Diagnostic Imaging
Ability to efficiently problem solve while dealing with a diverse set of systems and individuals
Ability to maintain effective and efficient workflow through the clinical areas
Ability to developing and motivate staff to their highest potential, using strong leadership skills and interpersonal communication skills
Significant discretion and knowledge of department to prioritize work load
Ability to respond to multiple duties simultaneously
Ability to contribute to the short and long-term planning process for all of Diagnostic Imaging, with specific emphasis on Service Standards and budget targets
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Education in Hospital Administration and Human Resources Management
