Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Manager Clinical Informatics Education and Adoption PSJH to one of our following regions: Portland, OR, Anchorage, Alaska, Missoula, MT, Burbank or Torrance, CA.

We are seeking a Manager Clinical Informatics Education and Adoption PSJH to be responsible for the tactical and operational management of the EHR Training and adoption Teams. The Education and Adoption Manager's essential purpose is to provide direction, leadership, and coaching to the individuals that are accountable for the design, development, production and administration of EHR core curriculum and training packages, with a focus on self-directed learning. The EHR training and adoption manager is responsible for assigning and balancing the work load of their team members, prioritizing and managing team projects, and for providing their direct reports with professional and performance development coaching and mentoring. Along with their co-managers, each manager will lead cross-team bodies of work such as Curriculum Design & Review teams, Epic Clinical Optimization programs, Credentialed Trainer Programs, Training Documentation Standards and Storage processes, new user training packages, HealthStream Catalog maintenance, and Training Technology Infrastructure Management.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development, Alignment, and Collaboration: Works collaboratively with other CI Education team members, Clinical and Business informatics team members, Regional trainers and managers, and IS customers to develop and validate training strategies and identify the learning needs of target audiences. Identifies opportunities to utilize new technologies and best practices to improve training design and delivery and helps team understand how to adopt technologies and best practices. Works with team to ensure Training projects have defined deliverables, realistic time lines, and measurable outcomes.

  • Management and Leadership : Leads the development of and ensures compliance with curriculum design, development, production, and distribution policies and procedures. Oversees the development of curriculum design and development standards, processes, and templates to ensure consistency in the approach to curriculum development across projects. Leads teams in designing and developing comprehensive training packages following the 10/20/70 model with focus on self-directed learning; ensures training programs include post training evaluations that can be used to measure the effectiveness of the new or changed curriculum. Ensures CI Education team members have the skills to successfully perform key tasks and meet the performance expectations of their roles.

  • Operations: Oversees HealthStream administrative functions and the maintenance of the HealthStream Catalog; works with team to develop and maintain processes and polices related to HealthStream Administrative functions such as scheduling, registration, and course assignments. Keeps co-managers and EHR training and adoption leadership team apprised of the progress and status of EHR training projects and initiatives. Appropriately escalates critical issues, problems or delays that could have an impact on the success of EHR training projects, initiatives, or assignments. Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations on EHR training efforts to extended team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership.

  • Standards of Performance: .Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values of PSJH in daily activities and interactions with all others. Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and as appropriate, other information as required by Federal, State, and Company compliance policies. Ensures compliance in self and team with mandatory system training and education efforts. Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities as outlined in system and department safety policies/procedures.

  • Customer Service : Develops and collaborates, using data, on individual and team objectives and capacities in the creation, definition, and advancement/support of new and existing standard operating procedures (SOP) and service level agreements (SLA) consistent with PSJH management, IS, and CI priorities with the goal of providing and maintaining excellent, realistic customer service. Measures and reports on individual and team objectives/SOPs/SLAs as required/requested by CI and IS leadership. Advocates for and supports a collaborative and just work environment that maintains and augments employee engagement and satisfaction with a career at PSJH.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Organizational Management and Development and/or Education, Business Administration, Informatics, or Information Services

  • 6 Years Education experience in an information services or training setting along with 3 or more years of management experience. Healthcare information services operations and support

  • 4 Years Leadership experience

  • 3 Years’ Experience in education in a large organization with multiple implementations. Experience standardizing complex and disparate processes. Experience in process improvement methodology, change management, and operational experience in a complex environment

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree Organizational Management and Development Education, Business Administration, Informatics, or Information Services
