Polysomnographic Technologist, Lead - Sleep Laboratory and Electroencephalography at Providence Portland Medical Center
Responsive for polysomnographic technologist duties and supervision of the shift staff members and activities. Responsible for effective and efficient implementation of policies and procedures in the department. Will assist in the performance evaluation of PSG technicians/technologists, and EEG Technicians/Technologists if applicable. Acts as the senior resource to other Sleep and EEG techs in the department. Responsible for assisting in the training and orientation of new staff. May perform Polysomnograms, (MSLT and/or MWTs if on dayshift) and EEGs (EEG work does not apply to Medford). Correlates and compiles diagnostic data and applies therapeutic modalities as necessary to patient's condition.
Coursework/Training: Documented training in polysomnography, (and MSLT/MWTs/EEGs if on dayshift) -OR- Demonstrated proficiency in polysomnography, (and MSLT/MWTs/EEGs if on dayshift)
Coursework/Training: After hire in this role, must complete Leadership Classes through Providence Academy
Licensure with the Oregon Respiratory Therapist and Polysomnographic Technologist Licensing Board as a Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist
Registry in Polysomnography (RPSGT) credential
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Two (2) years experience in Polysonography
