Providence Health & Services IS Consultant PSJH in Portland, Oregon
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a IS Consultant PSJH to our location in Seattle WA, Renton WA, Portland OR, Beaverton OR, Irvine CA, Burbank CA or Anaheim CA.
We are seeking a IS Consultant PSJH to be responsible for coordinating, planning and administration activities within the Technology Engineering and Operations organization in the areas of financial analysis, organizational planning and executive engagement. Provides subject matter expertise to other staff and leads small initiatives.
All duties must be performed in a manner that promotes team success, and reflects the Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) mission, philosophy, and core values of respect, compassion, justice, excellence, and stewardship.
Focuses on a wide variety of activities within the planning and administration arena including but not limited to:
operational activities in support of projects, such as tracking deadlines, managing issues list, and stakeholder communication
development of process inventories, documentation and process improvement opportunities
data collection and initial analysis, such as reconciliation of financial and caregiver data
communication items to various levels of the organization and external stakeholders, including researching relevant information when requested and responding to routine and complex questions
understanding and answering questions about current systems, processes and metrics
Reports to a TEO Director and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in PSJH TEO Program Operations, as well as with other Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) staff, vendors, agents, and others.
Recognizes the fact that, in addition to our line organization, coordination with teams outside of their direct pillar is important.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Develop informed recommendations about where to invest efforts based on established priorities as demonstrated by: completing assignments on time; communicating with customers and supervisors regarding prioritization and target completion dates based on business need or impact.
Plan and perform tasks correctly, in a timely and orderly manner, while meeting productivity, quality, and customer service goals contained in Service Level Agreements. Actively participates in uncovering and documenting potential cost savings. Coordinates with requisition, procurement, finance, accounts payable, HR, Talent Acquisition and other critical staff to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
Demonstrate effective interactions and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, stakeholders, other department employees and vendors in order to maximize productivity and positive employee relations including interacting and delivering at the multiple levels of the organization.
Serve as a liaison and principal contact for financial and organizational planning-related activity. Manages and integrates groups of diverse disciplines in collaborative activities by acting as key liaison and facilitating cross-function communication.
Participate in overall business planning, bringing current and future knowledge of technology and evolving systems as applied to the organization’s competitive position.
In conjunction with direction from leadership, develops strategies consistent with management goals and provides direction to managers to fulfill strategic enterprise direction.
Work within the organization effectively and efficiently to accomplish goals and objectives and use positive and effective interactions with staff, stakeholders, supervisors, other department employees and vendors to maximize productivity and positive employee relations. Shifts gears comfortably and learns quickly when faced with new challenges and problems. Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty. Consults and provides recommendations to customers, staff, and management on financial knowledge.
Maintain a positive relationship with various Technology leaders and Executive members, from with in their pillar and beyond. External - Supports vendor engagement through successful execution and transparency, relying on effective interpersonal and communication skills to overcome resistance to use of methodologies.
Analyze complex business problems, operational scenarios, and related financial implications; complete financial models for operations and identify areas of opportunity; develop executive-level proposals that enable senior leadership to make informed business decisions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent educ/experience.
2 years of progressive experience in an IS role.
2 years of experience in managing financial lifecycle activities, such as operating budgets and purchasing processes.
Financial accounting, budgeting and cost analysis knowledge.
IT knowledge and proficiency.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Financial accounting, budgeting and cost analysis knowledge.
2 years of experience working with Business Planning / Process
ITIL Foundations Certificate.
Coursework/Training in Business Planning / Process.
2 years of experience working with an Imaging System and ITSM Suite or similar software.
