Providence is calling a Interface Developer to Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR.
We are seeking an Interface Developer to be responsible for obtaining an in-depth understanding of the core interface functions and evaluation of requirements for multiple types of interfaces and can assist on general troubleshooting for interface production issues. Through customer interviews, will identify the key data elements and how they relate to various workflow scenarios. This role conducts connection, functional and mapped record testing in preparation for live cut-over and role is accountable for documenting current interface workflows and projected workflows, verifying the scope of interfaces and maintaining all associated project and operational interface documents.
In this position you will:
Manage HL7 messages through Bridges, the Epic interface utility toolkit.
Manage HL7 messages in Corepoint.
Work within Epic data structure and Chronicals.
Use information and analysis to evaluate and report on specific operational topics.
Assist other employees with inquiries or problems.
Lead small to medium internal project work teams.
Use professional knowledge and some independent judgment in making decisions or recommending a course of action.
Code in standard scripting language.
Work with customers to determine and document data needs requirements.
Required qualifications for this position include:
BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
4 years of functional experience in a healthcare setting or relevant information technology experience with at least 3 years of experience as a System or Application Analyst.
Key experience highlights include: knowledge and demonstrated use of at least one scripting language (SQL, PERL, Objectscript as examples); basic understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) from requirements through testing and deployment; demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills; an ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; demonstrated knowledge of HL7, X12, and/or other interface or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards.
Understands HL7 standard.
Strong knowledge of current best practices in SDLC and coding principles.
Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products.
Basic understanding in database structures, data definition and data relationships.
Demonstrated ability to document systems processes and procedures.
Epic Bridges Certification required within six months of job acceptance; with yearly certification.
Corepoint 1 training and subsequent standards training with two successful code promotions to production required within six months of job acceptance.
