We are seeking a HME Purchasing and Warehouse Manager - Durable Medical Equipment Administration that will oversee and lead people, operations, and facilities related to procurement, warehousing, disposition, and logistics of supplies and equipment for Providence Home Medical Equipment across multiple sites throughout the PSJH service area. As an integral member of the HME leadership team, the Manager leads purchasing and warehousing operations to achieve the financial, quality, and service goals of the organization.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and engage Supervisors, Coordinators and caregivers in delivering outstanding care and services to Providence HME patients and customers

  • Develop, manage and lead supply chain and purchasing activities at all Providence HME sites, and in conjunction with HME Managers, sets global and local operational policy, personnel competencies, performance standards, and performance metrics applicable to all locations

  • Oversee equipment, product, and supply storage and disposition, purchasing, asset management, and inventory for all HME sites

  • Establish effective training and competency development programs that assure high reliability in warehouse, supply chain, and patient care equipment

  • Routinely evaluate supply and equipment needs based on demand and trends, sets minimum and maximums, audits compliance to avoid shortages or excess inventory that can lead to interruptions in patient care and waste

  • Anticipate product shortages and takes appropriate actions to sustain patient care and operations

  • Oversee and perform annual physical inventory and routine inventory cycle counts

  • Assure all products purchased and received meet or exceed minimum quality specifications for the ministry and are acquired at the best price available using direct or system contracts

  • Promptly and effectively resolves quality concerns with suppliers and manufacturers, assuring continuity of patient care and mitigating risks to ministry or patient

  • Coordinate product recall and documentation when indicated

  • Assure ongoing efficiency, appropriateness, safety, and effectiveness of warehouse and purchasing

  • Review key operational and financial criteria used to assess operational and financial performance

  • Refine criteria, if necessary, to capture measurable performance expectations and outcomes going forward

  • Regularly and systematically assesses, and when necessary, develops and implements plans of action to accomplish required change and vigilantly reassesses outcomes to meet or exceed operational, quality, and financial expectations and benchmarks

  • Establish new direct contracts when advantageous to the ministry and allowed by system supply chain

  • Assure compliance with contracts and holds vendors accountable to terms, When allowed, pursues ‘failure to supply’, rebates, discounts, patient assistance programs, and other programs favorable to the ministry and fulfilling the mission

  • Assure HME system product and supply master files and knowledge bases are routinely updated with the most current information, including price changes, product descriptions, procedure codes, UOM, quantity and other system requirements

  • Assure selection, purchasing, storage, use, disposition of all supplies, equipment, assets, and other materials are consistently in compliance with policies, all State and Federal regulations, professional practice standards, safety standards, and guidelines including but not limited to: TJC standards; HITECH/HIPPA; FDA, OSHA, L&I, NIOSH guidelines

  • Anticipate and plans for the impact of practice and regulatory changes

  • Identify gaps in departmental and ministry practices, policies and procedures and assures corrective action plans are established, implemented and completed in a timely fashion

  • Identify departmental and ministry re-engineering opportunities through new technology, new services and/or reorganization of workflow to realize cost savings, service improvement and generation of new revenue

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree in Business or related healthcare

  • Five (5) years of Leadership experience including financial management, leading people, purchasing, inventory control, and supply chain management.
