Providence is calling an Exercise Physiologist to Providence Oregon Clinic Building in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Be primarily responsible for administering cardiac stress tests, including: treadmill stress, stress echocardiograms, nuclear medicine treadmill stress, nuclear medicine pharmacological stress, performing device interrogations, interpretations and programming of Pacemakers, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators. Be responsible for above procedures and processing patient data with clinical judgment using a variety of information systems while facilitating clear patient education regarding their cardiac care, medications, disease process/prevention, risk factors, cardiac procedures and diet.

  • Be responsible for recognizing and responding immediately and appropriately to potential emergency situations that arise, and making clinical decisions in regards to electrocardiography, safety, contraindications to testing, and test termination.

  • Escort rooming patients, performing holter/event monitor applications and recordings, and providing care as directed by a provider.

  • Potential variability in work schedule between Cardiology locations.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) – Allied Professional by IBHRE

  • Advanced EKG Interpretation skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s degree

  • 6 months of experience performing stress tests

  • 1 year of cardiac device experience

  • 3 years of experience in outpatient Cardiac Services
