Providence is calling a Equipment Technician / Videographer - Surgical Services (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
This is fill in resource position covering 8 hour shifts between 7am - 6pm and call after 6pm.
We are seeking a Videographer / Equipment Technician - Surgical Services who will operate, maintain, and or support specialized equipment during surgical procedures in OR, CVOR, Anesthesia, PACU, SSU, and Endo. Be responsible for management of relevant material resources and quality control of equipment used within surgical services. This includes recommendation for purchasing, tracking, preventative maintenance, use, repair, storage, and inventory of equipment. Helps to plan and organize the implementation of equipment and or projects within surgical services as needed. Provides material and educational training to staff regarding the use and support of this equipment within surgical services.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Working with Image Guidance systems in several different service lines
Maintain knowledge and skills to support a variety of endoscopic cameras and other video and MIS equipment
Provide medical photography and videography within surgery
Provide basic 1 st response computer support/troubleshooting.
Video capture surgical services in-service sessions, produce instructional video to support the surgical services staff in accordance with the Providence mission
Act as an educational resource to surgeons, anesthesiologists and hospital personnel concerning equipment information, usage, and maintenance
Implement, coordinate, and communicate an effective preventive maintenance and repair for Surgical Services equipment in close collaboration with Clinical Engineering, Physical Plant, and Surgical services staff
Oversee equipment storage and ensure equipment is stored appropriately to protect it from damage
Maintain Surgical Services’ equipment database through the tracking of equipment and patients in OR Tracker interface. Includes trouble shooting of hardware, software, badge application, and workflow to support the use of OR Tracker
Coordinate repairs to the operating suite physical plant by maintaining records of work requests and completion dates.
Educate other surgery staff to operate video and MIS equipment
Act as the Laser Safety Officer in the main operating room
Work with surgical equipment and procedures
Provide clinical support for laser cases as well as Neuro Spine cases with image-guided stealth
Required qualifications for this position includes:
High School Diploma -OR- GED
Current American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) at time of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Advanced training with surgical lasers, image guided surgical software, MIS video equipment and other equipment used in surgical services
