Providence is calling a Education, Quality Coordinator - Environmental Services (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Education, Quality Coordinator - Environmental Services who will develop programs to manage the training and education of the Environmental Services staff. Assures that process and documentation of training meet regulations and guidelines. Communicates knowledge with the Supervisory staff. Finds and develops new procedures using knowledge of Healthcare industry standards. Develops, conducts and administers on-going hospital wide training programs to ensure consistent practices, high quality control, sustainable programs, and employee, customer and patient satisfaction. Oversees Quality.
Motivating staff performing repetitive tasks to higher levels of performance and accountability.
Staying current on regulations and requirements related to Environmental Services, Healthcare, Infection Control and Safety.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Coordinate the development of department training and education programs. Establishes training policies and procedures:
Propose new practices to improve quality control.
Develop detailed plans to assure that implemented programs are integrated into everyday practices.
Work collaboratively with site supervisors to train staff and assure proper cleaning procedures are in place for all positions.
Monitor the performance of staff and makes recommendations for improvements to manager.
Expand and develop training and education materials.
Train, educate, assist and advise Environmental Services Staff and Supervisors:
Develop and conduct on-going education and hands on training for staff.
Establish and maintain open communication to enhance team effort.
Conduct required safety and environmental inspections. Serves as Safety Officer.
Research and make recommendations regarding work procedures. Facilitates process redesign efforts using Lean & Six Sigma tools.
Continue professional development and stays current on regulations and procedures:
Continually remains abreast of changes in the regulations affecting Environmental Services, Healthcare, Infection Control and Safety.
Attend job related conferences and seminars.
Make continuous effort to identify opportunities to meet/exceed customer needs and expectations.
Assure monitoring system is in place to document education and training:
Develop and monitor training for Human Resource files and Joint Commission compliance.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
3 years experience in the Environmental Services field
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Training in process improvement practices
1 year supervisory experience
