We are seeking a Dispatcher Security that will be a part of the Providence Security Operations Center (PSOC), which is responsible for providing a centralized location for collecting, processing, documenting and disseminating information as it relates to routine and emergency calls for service in the Oregon Region and other contracted facilities. The PSOC operates much like a public 911 center but additionally monitors high risk areas through the use of CCTV, alarms and access control systems.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Respond immediately and appropriately to emergency situations
Exercise good judgement with minimal supervision while handling critical calls relating to crisis intervention or life safety
Communicate with all callers; excited, emotional, and irate; in a calm, positive, effective and easily understood manner
Coordinate with Law Enforcement/EMS/Air Ambulance/Secure Transport for incoming patient into facilities
Communicate with the public using good communication and public relations skills, provides information as requested
Answer both emergency and non-emergency telephone lines from multiple locations
Ensure effective communication and good relations
Gather information on nature of event called in and determines the urgency of the response required
Document details of the call in the CAD system
Initiate urgent and emergency response by security personnel at individual facilities
Dispatch security personnel at multiple locations via two way radio
Retrieve and relay accurate and detailed information on developing events
Dispatch security personnel according to the urgency/priority of the event and availability of security staff
Monitor CCTV and critical alarms related to radiological material
Monitor alarms; silent/audible panic alarms, door alarms, and burglary alarms
Security is considered essential staff and therefore may be required to report to duty or hold over during inclement weather conditions and other emergencies to maintain operational needs
Provide excellent internal and external customer service
Participate in drills and emergency precautionary demonstrations
Maintain confidential information pursuant to applicable privacy laws
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Two (2) years of experience handling complex matters that includes applying organizational policies and procedures
One (1) year of experience working in environment with urgent or emergency conditions
Experience with 2-way radio systems.
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Health care experience
One (1) year of experience in dispatching environment experience
