Providence Health & Services Director of Hospital Labs in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Director of Hospital Labs (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Provide financial and operational management and direction to multiple Rapid Response Laboratories within the Oregon Region.
Oversee other regional or system lab programs or projects, as assigned.
Be focused on delivering service commitments provided to hospitals (whether physicians, non physician caregivers and/or administration) in which the Rapid Response Labs (RRLs) reside.
Deliver services in all facilities in a highly cost effective manner while maintaining appropriate licensures and conditions as required by CLIA, OSHA, TJC (The Joint Commission), CAP and the System Laboratory Compliance Program.
Support both the long range strategic and operational goals of the hospitals in which the laboratories reside as well as the Regional Laboratories.
Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission, philosophy and standards of behavior.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor degree in healthcare or related field
Additional formal training or experience in medical laboratory sciences, finance, economics, purchasing and operations management
10 years progressive healthcare management experience
Familiarity with hospital lab operations, including quality systems, front end specimen collection and processing and technical analytical processes
Familiarity with workflow and operational processes between laboratory departments and other hospital clinical and non-clinical departments or functions
Demonstrated ability to achieve operational improvement leading to quality and/or efficiency improvements
Must be able to travel between sites as needed
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master of Science, or Master of Business Administration degree
MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification (i.e., HEW, AMT, and NCA)
10 years progressive healthcare management experience, preferably with laboratory and bottom line accountability
