Providence Director Hospice in Portland, Oregon

Providence is calling a Director Hospice - Home Services Administration (1.0 FTE, Days) to Home Service Building in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Hospice, Director who will organize and direct the strategic and operational activities of Providence Hospice and Providence Community Care. As a resource for the Portland Service area in end of life care, serves with other Providence leaders to develop and maintain a system wide approach to end of life care within the context of the Service Areas and Service Line priorities and industry trends.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for improvements and resources for end of life care within the Portland, Yamhill and Hood River Service Areas.

  • Provide planning and implements hospice activities in Home and Community Services designed to create new markets.

  • Provide leadership in staff and management performance.

  • Develop and maintains working relationships throughout Providence.

  • Participate in planning performance improvement for Hospice and the performance and quality of care provided by Home Services.

  • Participate in strategic planning and budgetary formation with the Business and Clinical Operations, and the Chief, Hospice and Palliative Care.

  • Work with the operations, finance, revenue cycle and accounting to develop information, accounting, and accounts receivable systems and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with the Home and Community Care Manager of Contracts in developing payer contracts, including scope of services, payment methodologies, utilization conditions, and pricing and contract evaluation.

  • Provide administrative leadership and management to all Hospice programs and services.

  • Provide leadership in the coordination of care between Hospice and Palliative Care programs within the health care continuum and across multiple care settings.

  • Develop staff through orientation, skills training and continued education.

  • Promote the participation of Home Services and Providence Health & Services within the community.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Five (5) years demonstrating experience in progressive leadership roles as a director or administrator of certified Medicare Hospice or Home Health Program.

  • Three (3) years experience in Home Health or Hospice.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and facilitating change.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire.

  • In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties.

Preferred qualifications for this position includes :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;from an accredited school of Nursing, healthcare, human service or business degree

  • Business, Nursing, or related health fields
