We are seeking a Manager Crisis Intervention - Emergency Services that will oversee the daily operations and strategies for the Providence Portland Medical Center 24/7 emergency department crisis intervention team. The team is comprised of clinicians and non-clinicians working within the emergency department for the purpose of assessing, managing and triaging patients who present in acute mental health crisis. The clinical team members are responsible for patient assessment at the direction of the treating physician providing diagnostic clarity, level of care recommendations, acuity of risk, brief interventional strategies and essential community collaboration. The non-clinical staff have advanced education and/or training in identifying and engaging patients with potentially escalating behaviors/actions
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Plan, develop, implement and evaluates the PPMC and PSV Emergency Department Crisis Intervention Services
Collaborate with Regional Director on designing, presenting and implementing strategic efforts to address the target patient population for the team
Manage the Crisis Intervention staff, including coaching and counseling, ongoing performance assessment, the development of corrective actions plans and monitoring for improvement as needed
Hire and discharges staff
Develop and maintain policies and procedures that meet departmental goals, objectives and action plans, including budgetary and resource outcomes
Participate in the preparation and implementation of the department's budget
Ensure the department operates within budget guidelines by monitoring and analyzing monthly expenses
Report variances to finance
Investigate and respond to complaints regarding department performance or service as necessary
Facilitate team development, team function and problem solving through monthly case reviews and case presentations
Ensure staff adherence to any changes to workflow, documentation or other expectations related to practice guidelines and performance
Collaborate with the BH Regional educator for training opportunities to help staff stay current on clinical advancements, outpatient treatment options, community resources, and regulatory requirements
Work closely and collaboratively with the emergency department care providers to ensure appropriate assistance with disposition
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, -OR- related field
LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in accordance with the appropriate Oregon Board of licensure
American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA - BLS) certification at time of hire, -OR- within 60 days of hire
PMAB training within 60 days of hire
Five (5) years of Current experience in Mental Health, Medical Social Work or Emergency
Department clinical experience
Direct clinical management of 10 caregivers
