Providence is calling a Credentialed Medical Assistant - Express Care Pearl (0.9 FTE, Days) to Providence Medical Group Express Care Standalone Pearl in Portland, OR.
Express Care Clinics are stand-alone clinics that offer a faster way to stay well. We offer same-day appointments for common health issues. We treat everything from colds and flus to scrapes and sprains. Express Care clinics are the newest avenue of healthcare for Providence, so this offers an exciting opportunity for MAs to trial new things and provide valuable feedback.
If you like autonomy and are comfortable working as the only MA supporting up to two Providers this position is for you! As the only person in the office, you will be responsible for front office as well as back office and can control your own day.
This position requires 7 day a week availability. You will be scheduled for 3 days a week for 12 hour shifts. We schedule a month in advance so you will know your schedule in advance.
In this position, you will:
Provide effective and efficient services to patients working under the direction of a practitioner, assisting in basic patient care within a retail clinic.
Be the first point of contact to patients or visitors and play a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service.
CMA, Certified Medical Assistant, C.M.A.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Credentialing through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP)
If not currently credentialed, this position will require successfully obtaining Medical Assistant Certification within 60 days from date of hire
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for the Healthcare Provider
6 months of recent experience working as a medical assistant
Experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of insurance and insurance industry practices
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
