Providence is calling a Clinical Documentation Specialist to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
This position will work Monday - Friday, 40 hours/wk and will join a team of 21 nurses focused on the same quality initiatives.

In this position, you will:
Be a part of a regional team that facilitates improvement in the overall quality, completeness and accuracy of medical record documentation. This requires analysis of clinical information to identify areas within the medical record for potential gaps in physician documentation.
Assist with necessary modification to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians. It requires work with coding staff to assure documentation of discharge diagnoses and co-morbidities are a complete reflection of the patient’s clinical status and care.
Develop and implement plans for education of physicians, nursing and ancillary staff on documentation improvement.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing -or- Doctor of Medicine (MD) graduate/educated (foreign country or United States)
Current, unencumbered Oregon state Registered Nurse license
5 years recent acute care experience in adult acute, critical care, or strong medical/surgical setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s of Science in Nursing
