Providence Health & Services Clinical Chaplain Hospice in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Clinical Chaplain (0.6 FTE, Days) for Hospice in Portland and Greater Yamhill County. Our ideal work schedule will be three 8-hour days per week (no nights or weekends). You are eligible for benefits on your hire date!
In this position you will:
Provide spiritual and emotional support to Hospice patients, families and staff under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Care and in conjunction with the Hospice Program Manager.
Perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates our Core values: Compassion, Dignity, Justice, Excellence and Integrity.
Required Qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field
Successful completion of at least 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education with certification by either the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC), or Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC) -or- obtainable within 2 years of hire
Certification will be maintained in "active status" as verified by the department Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care for Home & Community Services
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) for Health Care Provider -or- Advanced (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
Current driver's license
Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire
Endorsement from sponsoring religious community
In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 “Background Checks”, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
Pastoral Care chaplaincy in a healthcare setting with hospice and/or- palliative care experience
Ability to work closely with an interdisciplinary team, and independently in field for visits
Able to be competent with computer and smart phone for communications
