Providence Health & Services Analyst - Orthopedic Clinical Information in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Analyst - Orthopedic Clinical Information (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.
We are seeking an Orthopedic Clinical Information Analyst to drive the evolution of our Orthopedic Institute to deliver high-quality care that is more accessible, convenient and affordable for the communities we serve. The Providence Health & Services Orthopedic Institute through our hospitals across the state provide the highest number of orthopedic procedures in Oregon. Three of our hospitals are Joint Commission Disease Specific certified for hip and knee replacements and we participate in national registries and quality collaboratives.
This role drives value by collaborating with clinical and administrative team members to build data queries, develop reports and analyze findings to help guide clinical and business decisions. This role will also interact with various teams throughout our clinical institutes in the Oregon region including clinical leaders (medical directors, nurse leaders, surgeons), clinical program managers, product managers and research teams. The clinical information analyst will identify potential trends and challenges when looking at performance data to find new areas of innovation and strategies within our program. While experience within orthopedics is preferred, we welcome analysts with previous experience in the healthcare setting.
In this position, you will:
Provide in-depth statistical and analytic support for service quality, safety and clinical practices in alignment with the strategic priorities of the Providence Orthopedic Institute in Oregon.
Obtain, extract and manipulate data from various internal and external sources.
Be actively engaged in the planning and project coordination related to data management, data manipulation, and data analysis including interpretation and evaluation, database management and development, data entry, data reporting and presentation.
Work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems to enhance data query and track key orthopedic quality indicators including but not limited to: infection, complications, mortality, re-admissions, and patient satisfaction.
Design and develop standard and specialty reports and tracks key metrics for The Joint Commission and other external certification organizations. Works as a critical part of a team supporting innovative, value-based patient care models, and collaborates with research staff around data sources for research projects.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related clinical discipline -or- a combination of education and industry related experience*
3 years experience in relevant clinical management, clinical data analysis, or quality improvement experience in an acute care or clinical setting
Experience working on both short and long term projects autonomously and in a team environment. Exposure to project management tools and techniques and information management tools and techniques, preferably in a healthcare environment
Computer applications experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, including productivity tools, database management systems, enterprise information systems, analysis tools, reporting and presentation systems, etc.
Industry related means Healthcare, Research, Information Technology or within the application area (for instance, system analysis in a non-healthcare and non-IS setting
