Senior Software Asset Process Analyst (Service Engineering) - Enterprise Information Services - *remote within Providence footprint of states (WA, CA, OR, AK, TX, MT, NM)

Senior Software Asset Process Analysts work in partnership with Procurement, IT Service Desk, Finance, IT Security and software vendors to drive end user software requests to completion and track, plan for and carry out software license renewals and true ups across a broad spectrum of end user software. They work with internal business stakeholders to analyze software usage data to determine opportunities for optimization and savings and design, develop and generate software asset management reports to communicate and monitor compliance, usage and budgetary data, with the help of tools such as PowerBi, Excel and PowerPoint. They have excellent time management skills to handle both operational as well as project work and are well versed with data analysis.

Software Asset Management Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the data collection, recording and maintenance of software assets

  • Work with software vendors on quotes and track purchase requests and shipments to completions

  • Track software renewals and identify optimization and savings opportunities for renewals and true ups

  • Perform internal audits and surveys to collect and analyze software usage data

  • Collaborate cross functionally with Security, Procurement, Finance, Service Desk, Business Partners

  • Partner with the Corporate Technology organization to propose, refine and implement process improvements and drive efficiencies and automations

  • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction for IT Software Requests

  • Direct support to end users in the area of License Management (receiving requirements for out of the box software, performing purchase requests, liaising with the procurement team)

  • Designs, develops and generates software asset management reports to communicate and monitor compliance, usage and budgetary data, with the help of tools such as PowerBi and Excel pivots, etc.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent educ/experience

  • 5 years of related experience; more preferred.

  • Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes.

  • Experience with n-tier solutions.

  • Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually).

  • Experience influencing software engineering team members in translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet Quality of Service Expectations.

  • Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups to establish appropriate prioritization of Live Site requirements.

  • Good experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Experience in problem solving using systematic procedures and investigating problems utilizing root cause analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

  • ITIL, CITAM, CSAM or CISA certifications

  • Experience administering vendor licensing portals

  • Experience working in ticketing systems

  • Master's degree

  • 2+ years of experience in software procurement, contract review, and licensing experience

  • Familiarity with common vendor license portals to administer SaaS software and subscriptions

  • Good understanding of common software license models for end user software (Adobe, Microsoft)

  • Proven project management, planning and organization skills

  • Excellent time management and customer service skills

  • Self starter who loves to own things from start to completion. You make things happen.
