Providence is calling a Senior Manager of Nursing Education and Staff Development to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift position. Position Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Manager of Nursing Education and Staff Development that will direct a continuing education program for the enhancement of practice, education, administration, research, and theory development, built on the varied education and experience of nursing staff. Provides leadership direction to the development of patient education materials. Ensures ongoing excellence of patient care in clinician's area of expertise. Collaborates with the Regional Nursing Education Council and Regional Patient Education Council assisting in establishing goals for regional education programs, and participates in shaping the vision and strategic plan for the service area. Sets nursing practice standards for the continued advancement of nursing. Collaborates with the Multidisciplinary Team to facilitate continuity of patient care across the continuum.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide for nursing and patient educational opportunities for the entire facility. Represents the Department of Nursing in patient care on internal and external committees and task forces

  • Assist in developing, coordinating, evaluating and interpreting Department of Nursing activity, policy, standards, goals and objectives as needed within the department

  • Ensure the development of management of integrated education program

  • Assist in establishing goals for regional education programs. Participates in shaping the vision and strategic plan for the institution

  • Ensure that orientation and continuing education programs address critical thinking, technical, interpersonal and environmental needs of staff

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing; graduate of an accredited school

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Education

  • Current unencumbered licensure as an RN in the state of Oregon

  • BLS certification

  • Participation in professional organizations

  • 5 years experience in related nursing field

  • 2 years of leadersip experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with RN education and professional development highly preferred

  • Certification in administration or clinical area of expertise
