Providence Health & Services Phlebotomist *20 Hour Per Week* in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Phlebotomist to its Medford Medical Clinic Lab in Medford, OR. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week). The standard schedule will include an early start time of 8am, with the latest end time of 4pm, every Friday thru Sunday. However, this schedule may periodically change to support operational demand.

We are seeking for a Phlebotomist that will obtain accurate and reliable blood and body fluid specimens from properly identified patients. Identifies phlebotomy difficulties, defines appropriate solutions and coordinates resources. Maintain outstanding relationships with client and clinic staff.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Use sterile collection technique in handling collection devices, preparing skin, and in procuring sample(s)for analysis
Assure proper preservative/anticoagulant is used for collection
Provide positive patient identification and labels samples accurately and completely to assure patient demographics, safety, and quality assurance standards are met
Enter lab test into the computer system and promptly delivers specimens to the appropriate testing area
Receive, prioritize and schedule requests for laboratory work
Provide the necessary instruction for preparation of patients when indicated by test requested
Maintain adequate supplies for work area; coordinates receipt and delivery of supply requests
Interpret, transcribe and file physician test requests
Identify and resolve basic discrepancies and directs inquiries to proper technical staff
Assure proper collection of specimens for drug screening programs, using established protocols and remaining current on all new procedures
Project positive, professional public relations image, maintain excellent rapport with internal and external clients
Receive phone calls, accurately relays test results or test status, answers basic questions, refers/transfers calls to clinical staff or providers
Consider the age or developmental needs of the patient when providing care
Attend continuing education seminars and department meetings for further understanding of departmental procedures and changes
Foster a teamwork environment
Receive, accurately processes and distributes specimens in a manner that assures proper preservation of samples and timely analysis and reporting of results
Required qualifications for this position includes:
HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification within sixty (60) days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of college accredited phlebotomy certified program -OR- one (1) year phlebotomy experience in a similar setting
One (1) year of Phlebotomy experience
