Providence Health & Services Quality Improvement Coordinator in Beaverton, Oregon
Providence is calling an Quality Improvement Coordinator to Providence Murray Business Ctr Beaverton in Beaverton, OR. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), day shift position that will require shared after hours and weekend coverage.
We are seeking an Quality Improvement Coordinator that works in collaboration with the ProvRN RN Educator/Quality Improvement Coordinator and Core Leaders to develop, implement and measure improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting improved healthcare outcomes and financial efficiencies. The QI coordinator has a detailed understanding and can skillfully use the techniques of system design, lean principals, reengineering, project management, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, statistical analysis and change management. The incumbent will work closely with ProvRN leaders to establish a vision and direction for the Quality Improvement Program within the framework of current regulation, market initiatives, existing customer needs and PSJH's strategic plan. The use of health information technology (electronic health records, call system, data repository, etc.) and resulting data and standard and ad hoc reports will be a major component of the QI program. Requires proficiency using Microsoft Office products, multiple computer applications and SQL.

Patient Population Served:
The Quality Improvement Coordinator does not have direct contact with callers. They serve all our populations indirectly by assuring ProvRN processes are of high quality.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Oversees and monitors the development and implementation of the quality improvement program.
Provides project management, extracts data for analysis and measurement of outcomes.
Has input and impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change in order to achieve and maintain an efficient, cost-effective program.
Performs under minimal supervision with accountability for specific improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency of the programs.
Provides leadership for implementing changes targeted at systems improvement.
Applies, teaches, and skillfully uses techniques for system design, reengineering, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis.
Assures that improvement activities are documented and reported within the organization and externally as appropriate.
Demonstrates problem solving, leadership, conflict management, and team building skills in order to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals.
Interprets data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports. Communicates results in a clear and concise manner.
Develops and implements data bases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality.
Develops and monitors performance and quality improvement plans to identify improvements.
Supports standardization of processes.
Displays ability to work in an ever-changing environment and participate constructively in change processes.
Exhibits and employs strong problem solving and decision making skills.
Utilizes solid judgment and adheres to all policies ensuring the protection of confidential information related to patient information according to internal and external regulations (HIPAA, 42 CFR etc.).
Maintains knowledge of current regulatory standards and work with department leadership to update/modify policies and programs to maintain compliance
Attends and participates in staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.

Communicates effectively using a variety of formats, tools and technologies to build relationships with colleagues, co-workers and interdisciplinary teams.
Prioritizes individual workload to meet deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
Utilizes the computer in an efficient and effective manner. Participate in continuing education related to software, database and file maintenance.
Act as a facilitator on quality improvement teams, encouraging and promoting the use of continuous quality improvement tools and techniques. Assist teams in designing data collection plans and using effective data display tools.
Required qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience in quality improvement, and/or data analysis
Requires knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or Management Engineering
Certification from a national association in quality improvement
Experience working with SQL. Able to write SQL queries
Experience with project management, data capture, data mining and analysis, team facilitation, lean principals and change management
Progressive leadership experience
Experience in quality improvement, systems design, or project management in a healthcare setting
