Providence Pharmacy Supervisor Training and Quality Assurance in Beaverton, Oregon


Providence Health Plan is calling for a Pharmacy Supervisor of training and quality assurance. This position is a flexible model, working a combination of in office and remote. We are seeking candidates that are available in commute distance to the office in Beaverton, OR.

We support our pharmacy plans and member care by providing our expertise in the application of pharmacy benefits management. This working supervisor position will coordinate pharmacy training and quality assurance. Leading a team of pharmacy trainers in continuous development of training curriculum and supporting resources to conduct new-hire and ongoing pharmacy caregiver (staff) training. The duties of this professional position will include coordinating the delivery of competency-based technical training, soft skill coaching, customer service call quality excellence, assistance with monitoring and auditing of prior authorizations, pharmacy claims reimbursements, claims overrides, and Medication Therapy Management. In delivering training, pharmacy trainers are expected to attain a high level of competency in all work of the inbound call center and prior authorization processing center. Which includes competency and knowledge of all Commercial, ASO, Medicaid and Medicare/Medicare Part D regulatory requirements pertaining to the Pharmacy department and ensuring caregivers are appropriately trained to meet these requirements. General Summary:

This working supervisor position will lead a team of professional training instructors which together, form the pharmacy training center. The pharmacy training center is responsible for the creation and archival of pharmacy training material. Responsibility includes instructor led training, virtual or onsite as necessary, e-learning, and management of all documentation resources. Ultimately providing an excellent pharmacy member experience by supporting timely, accurate, and integrated training services for the pharmacy caregivers (staff) and all lines of business, including Commercial, ASO, Medicaid and Medicare/Medicare Part D. This team provides a quality assurance function for pharmacy and reporting to pharmacy leadership. Major areas of focus include coordination with quality and performance improvement initiatives and projects, supporting ongoing day-to-day operational needs, and creative problem-solving. Outcomes of this work include continuous improvement in production and operations with efficiency and quality to meet and exceed the service expectations of members, providers, employer groups, regulators, and auditors.

Required qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree with 6 years related management/industry experience or equivalent educ/experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Oregon Pharmacy Technician License Or within one year of hire

  • 3 years Pharmacy Technician experience

  • 5 years of experience in a managed care environment with customer service related background

  • Strong computer, data entry and typing experience

  • 3 years of Managed care pharmacy experience

  • 3 years of experience training adult learners’ technical skill

  • 3 years of experience in project management methods such as, Six Sigma, Lean training, Change Acceleration Process (CAP) and Work Out experience
