Providence Health & Services Regional Director of Operations - Foundations in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Regional Director of Operations to join the senior leadership team of our Oregon Foundations. This strategic, operational role reports directly to the President/Chief Development Officer for the Providence Foundations and is located at our Providence Office Park in Portland, Oregon.

In this position, you will:

  • Serve in a senior strategic and administrative role for all philanthropic programs conducted by Providence Health & Services/Providence Foundations in Oregon.

  • Be responsible for the internal operations of the Foundations including, but not limited to, strategic business planning, best practices gift records and reporting, gift processing, donor database management, financial reporting, budgeting, human resource management, prospect portfolio management systems, direct mail program, and prospect research.

  • Also be responsible for the implementation of a new donor database also known as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and the merging of ten donor databases into one system for Oregon. This will take place in early 2018.

  • Drive overall strategic development for financial reporting, investments, accounting, database management and human resources applications for Providence Foundations in Oregon.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (i.e., business, finance, computer science, or public administration)

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in management of financial reporting, database management and/or related not-for-profit administration

  • Increasingly responsible Supervisory and management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex support systems

  • Technical skills including experience with relational databases and reporting tools

  • Prior knowledge of fundraising essential

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters of Science (MS) degree with accounting courses or a Master's of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Certification as a Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)

  • Prior knowledge of healthcare fundraising priorities
