Providence Health & Services Preschool/Pre-K Teacher Wee Care Child Development Center in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling an experienced Preschool/Pre-K Teacher to our Wee Care Child Development Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, benefited position.
In this position, you will:
Work as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment providing developmentally appropriate activities for a child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
Directly be involved in the physical care of children and the maintenance of a clean, orderly preschool environment.
Work with the Lead Teacher to organize and plan a developmentally appropriate environment, learning activities, schedule and general care of the children. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosphy.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must be 18 years of age
Oregon Registry Step 9 -or- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
6 months of experience with groups of children 3-6 years (Practicum experience is acceptable experience to the required 6 month full-time equivalent)
Willingness and ability to promote expansion of knowledge in child development/early childhood education through workshops/classes
Ability to work flexible hours within the hours of operation 6:30AM to 6:30PM and holidays
In compliance with the Office of Child Care of the Oregon Department of Education, Central Background Registration is required for this position, based on assigned duties. Must have no convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances, or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions, of duties of an employee of a child care facility.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
Current Infant/Child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications
1 year of experience with groups of children 6 weeks to 6 years, with at least 6 months with children 3-6 years
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) experience
