Providence Health & Services Clinical Pharmacist - Central Refill in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Pharmacist (1.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

This position will be scheduled for four ten hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 9am-8pm.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist in all aspects of processing prescription refill requests.

  • Function in accordance with all state and federal rules, regulations, statutes and Board of Pharmacy Administrative Rules .

  • Use established guidelines and/or protocols, the pharmacist facilitates authorization of medication refills for clinic patients.

  • Assure high quality services to Providence patients and primary care clinics, supervise staff, and perform pharmacist review and adjudication of refill requests as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical pharmacy specialists, technicians, clinical pharmacy department programs and services to optimize medication therapy.

  • Be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

  • Play a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing patients with exceptional customer service and serving as the liaison between patients, physicians and pharmacies.


Required q ualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate from an accredited college of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree

  • Bachelor level training will be considered as meeting requirements for pharmacist candidates that have a minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy practice experience at hiring mangers discretion

  • Washington licensure eligible

  • Current and valid Oregon State Board of pharmacy license

  • Graduate residency
