Providence Health & Services Lab Supervisor in Newberg, Oregon

Providence is calling: Our Providence Newberg Medical Center is in need of a full time Lab Supervisor to work a rotating/variable shift. If you are looking to make a difference, this may be the opportunity for you.

In this position, you will:

  • Oversee and coordinate the support operations for the laboratory sections to include S.O.S.A. Client Services, S.O.S.A. registration, Inpatient Phlebotomy, and Specimen Processing and coordinate with all Providence Medical Group (PMG) South Clinics.

  • Establish goals, objectives, standards and priorities to assure that the delivery of services is performed in a highly effective manner.

  • Maintain the service levels and quality necesssary to retain the current client base and attract new business.

  • Provide leadership to support continuous quality improvement and ensure services are competitively positioned.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Licensed Medical Technologist, or Medical Laboratory Technician (American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent)

  • 5 years of progressive laboratory experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting

  • Familiarity with all aspects of lab support department operations, including cost effective management of labor and supplies

  • Familiarity with and operational processes between technical and non-technical laboratory functions

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve operational improvement

  • Ability to identify root causes for operational variances and to

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve service failures

  • Demonstrated ability to work with disparate groups with competing priorities

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
