Providence Health & Services Maintenance Technician in Hood River, Oregon


Providence is calling: We are searching for motivated full time Maintenance Technician to work at the Providence Down Manor location in Hood River, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Maintain, inspect and repair cold/hot water distribution systems, fixtures, sewer systems, fire extinguishing systems, fire drills, and mechanical equipment.

  • Perform minor remodeling, painting, and minor repairs.

  • Be responsible for floor care, and apartment turnover.

  • Be responsible for special projects throughout the facility.

  • Assist in the moving of residents personal property within the Senior Village complex.

  • Participate in irrigation care.

  • Serve as a member of the Security and Fire Responding Team as well as the Safety Committee.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent education/experience providing skills in reading, writing, math and science

  • Graduate of trade school -or- technical courses in plumbing, air conditioning, heating is desirable and may substitute for up to 2 years of experience

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid

  • Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level 1 (Facility may choose to provide after 12 months of employment)
